Michigan has one ground for divorce:  “There has been a breakdown of the marriage relationship to the extent that the objects of matrimony have been destroyed and there remains no reasonable likelihood that the marriage can be preserved.”

Making a serious decision such as divorce is very emotional and sometimes complicated.  Our firm advocates for our clients in a sensitive and individual manner.  We aim to educate and guide our clients through this difficult time and help them make the right decisions for their family.

We are here to help you plan for your family’s future in the event you are incapacitated or after you are gone.  We will examine and discuss your assets and your goals and provide guidance for the preparation of the necessary planning documents involving:

● Wills

● Trusts

● Durable Power of Attorney for Health Care

● Durable Power of Attorney for Financial Affairs

● Deeds (the transfer of property into a trust)

Our job is to listen carefully to your personal wishes and then advise you in the proper completion of the necessary planning documents required.  Let us help you develop a solid estate plan and to avoid probate, conservatorships and guardianships.

If you have a loved one with special needs, we can help set up a Special Needs Trust so that they are not disqualified from government benefits.

Decedent’s Estates

We help clients negotiate the probate process by assisting  with the probate of a will, preparing inventories and accountings, transferring  real property and working with creditors.  It is our objective to make this process as pain- free as possible.

If a loved one needs help managing their finances due to an infirmity or special needs,  we can help you establish a conservatorship to assist them.

If a loved one needs help in their everyday living arrangements, we can help you establish a guardianship to assist them.

We counsel our clients through the process of acquiring, financing, purchasing and selling their homes and condominiums.  We work with landlords and tenants regarding leases and contracts. We can help with disputes and disagreements over land use, easements and property lines.  Our attorney will work closely with our clients on all issues of each real estate transaction from the purchase agreement to the closing documents.

Unable to sell your property due to a defect in title, we can help clear title by negotiating  with title companies and litigating quiet title actions when necessary.

We are prepared to defend clients charged with misdemeanor offenses from arraignment through trial.
